Design, develop, and optimize CW and pulsed fiber laser systems for various applications.
Conduct experiments and tests in the lab to characterize and validate laser performance and optical components.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate fiber laser systems into larger optical systems or products.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to fiber lasers and optical components.
Participate in the design and fabrication of optical fiber components, including but not limited to couplers, amplifiers, and isolators.
Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in fiber laser technology and optical components manufacturing.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optics Engineering, Electrical, Physics, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in developing CW and pulsed fiber laser systems in an industrial or research environment.
Proficiency in laboratory work, including experimental design, data analysis, and instrumentation.
Strong understanding of optical principles and optical fiber systems.
Experience with optical fiber handling techniques such as splicing, cleaving, and coating.
Experience with fiber components manufacturing (pump combiners, mode field adapters, Fiber Bragg Gratings, tapering, fiber bundle preparation, etc.) would be a plus.
Proficiency in relevant software tools for laser design and simulation (e.g., MATLAB, COMSOL, Lumerical, RP Photonics) and laboratory automation (e.g., LabView).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Mechanical design skills and CAD software knowledge would be a plus.
