Senior Cost Estimator

We are hiring Senior Cost Estimator to join one of our major clients based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
• Contribute to operation effectiveness by independently and proactively advising on process improvement opportunities.
• Estimation software (preferably Cost OS or Candy)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver thorough, independent and complete cost estimation for the tenders.
• Collect all relevant information from the production estimator, design engineer, tender manager, and site visits.
• Process all gathered data into clear optimal budgets and cost estimates including planning and work sequencing.
• Regularly consult with colleagues from the commercial department and the project manager about cost.
• Come up with creative and innovative ideas/alternatives to ensure competitive cost estimation and efficient work plan.
• Assess proposals and prices of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring gathered data and budget information is maintained, and knowledge is transferred to project management and the commercial department.
• Assist in preparing tender/quotation documents for tendering purposes.
• Ensure maintenance of a database containing prices/quotes from subcontractors.
• Closely collaborate with the production estimator, colleagues from the commercial department, and tender manager.
• Study and analyze bids/tenders technically and commercially, write scope clarification, and identify risks, opportunities, and assumptions made within the cost estimates.
• Technical skills with thorough knowledge of estimation principles. This is a generalist view of a job that you have been assigned for; at times you may be requested to do above/beyond the scope of this role due to operational requirements.
