IGCSE English Teacher
Job description
Teaching and Instruction:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons for IGCSE and AS/A Level students.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage students and enhance their language skills.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and collaboration.
Curriculum Development:
- Collaborate with the English Department and other faculty members to develop and refine the IGCSE and AS/A Level English curriculum.
- Incorporate literature, writing, and language skills development into the curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Stay informed about changes and updates to the IGCSE and AS/A Level English syllabi and ensure alignment with curriculum standards.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design and administer assessments, essays, and examinations to assess student learning and progress.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their writing, reading comprehension, and language skills.
- Analyze assessment data to identify areas of strength and weakness and tailor instruction accordingly.
Student Support and Guidance:
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students to help them improve their English language proficiency.
- Offer additional assistance and resources to students who may be struggling academically.
- Encourage and support students in developing effective study habits and exam preparation strategies.
Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices in English education.
- Participate in departmental meetings, workshops, and conferences to collaborate with colleagues and share expertise.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress, expectations, and concerns.
- Collaborate with other teachers, department heads, and administrators to support school-wide initiatives and promote a cohesive learning environment.
- Attend parent-teacher conferences, school events, and extracurricular activities as required.
