Monitor the performance of vessels through the entire voyage to raise, manage, process and administer demurrage and claims and arrange continuous follow up. Monitor and issue periodic demurrage and claims report to facilitate management review.
Key Accountabilities:
Assess vessel performance: Evaluate the vessel performance in terms of hours spent at load and discharge ports and at sea, to identify and raise claims, freight invoices, demurrage and other claims.
Determine Claim: Review and process claims by determining deviations and root causes pertaining to the claim in coordination with the owners/customers and agents in order to determine the nature of the claim. Evaluate Spot demurrage and claims as well as raise demurrage and claims against Bolanter under the terms of the COA.
Spot Demurrage: Evaluate Spot demurrage, deviation and other claims as well as raise demurrage, deviation and other claims against Bolanter under the terms of the COA between Bolanter Corporation and Bahri.
Raise Claim: Raise demurrage and other claims against charterer of Bahri vessels on voyage charter.
Analyse and report: Perform statistical analysis of demurrage and claims, highlighting trends and areas of improvement and issue periodic reports. Capture data relating to demurrage and claims and maintain the database.
Leadership: Effectively supports employees to meet daily requirements/deadlines through addressing queries, resolving day-to-day work related issues and providing technical on-the-job training. Advise functional teams or projects on his/her area of specialization and is able to lead multidisciplinary projects or initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor Degree in Marine Transportation, Engineering or Business Administration
Minimum of 6 years marine, commercial shipping experience, or 3 years as Deck Officer on Oil Tanker.
