Record fixed assets into financial software (FA module) and maintain an accurate fixed asset register.
Review depreciation before posting monthly entries in financial software.
Retire fixed assets from the financial system following verification and appropriate approvals.
Conduct physical verification of the Fixed Assets every quarter/half year and report any discrepancies to management.
Reconcile fixed asset accounts to the general ledger.
Accounts Receivable:
Raise invoices for customers and follow up on outstanding payments.
Record receipts and generate ageing reports for outstanding receivables.
Accounts Payable:
Receive invoices from suppliers and verify them against supporting documents and approvals.
Record invoices in financial software and process payments according to the credit terms.
Generate ageing reports for outstanding payables.
General Ledger Accounting:
Perform daily bank reconciliations.
Process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded and assist in monthly closings.
Review and investigate errors and inconsistencies in financial entries and reports.
Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed.
Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and year-end statutory audits.
Assist Senior Accountant in day-to-day work or assigned tasks.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain organized filing systems for all financial documents, ensuring accessibility when required.
File documents/files/vouchers along with supporting documents.
Remain updated with the laws and regulations of the United Arab Emirates, including but not limited to VAT laws from FTA, DED, DM etc. for compliance purposes with respect to Accounting and Finance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in commerce (B. Com) or equivalent.
1 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong focus on fixed assets. Previous working experience in the hospitality industry will have an advantage.
Familiarity with financial software modules, particularly with Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger.
Experience with ORACLE-based software (JDE/EBS) is an advantage.
