Senior Site Architect

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the coordination process with other disciplines.
2. Assist the Resident Engineer in performing the contractual duties on site.
3. Process contract documents and assist with contract administration.
4. Develop, modify, and review production drawings and construction documents.
5. Correct and update design documents.
6. Serve as an architectural resource for the Design department.
7. Provide resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinate application of solutions to ensure progress on site.
8. Advise the project manager of any technical aspects of the architectural works that may affect construction progress, quality, and the like.
9. Monitor the interior architectural works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.
10. Review and process all shop drawings and architectural technical submittals.
11. Answer RFI’s related to interior and architecture.
12. Review construction submittals from project inception to close-out.
13. Review Contractor's installation method statements.
14. Review Contractor's shop drawings against the design (tender) drawings for compliance with the design intent and return to project manager with appropriate comments/approval.
15. Review Contractor's material proposals against specified technical performance requirements and advise the Project Manager on the appropriateness of the proposals.
16. Review Contractor's proposed subcontractor(s) associated with the engineering works from a technical standpoint.
17. Monitor procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.
18. Undertake general project site observation/inspection of the works for Contractor's adherence to the approved shop drawings and Consultant's specification, good working practices, the construction schedule, and health & safety.
19. Lead the snagging and de-snagging process with an aim to progress the works to completion through this process.
20. Attend project, site progress, and any related technical meetings as directed by the project manager.
21. Prepare draft site/engineer's instructions relating to the project, as required, and issue to the Project Manager.
22. Provide advice to the Project Manager regarding any variation costs that may be claimed by the Contractor during the course of the works.
23. Oversee architects and inspectors for all architectural work and ensure that installation activities comply with contractual obligations and quality control standards.
24. Ensure that the project quality control procedures are used for the construction supervision works and monitor it for improvement.
25. Collaborate with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
26. Review and interpret discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work.
27. Perform works inspection requests and material inspection requests as required to support juniors.
28. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
