Job Description:

Summary:
To design electronic hardware and ensure that it complies with specifications. Responsible for the research, development, and validation of electronic components and systems within the product development cycle. This role involves conducting market research, feasibility studies, and concept simulations, as well as overseeing the design, fabrication, and testing of printed circuit boards (PCBs). The Electronics Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure the successful integration and approval of electronic products.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop components such as circuit boards and other devices.
2. Work closely with software engineers to create new components, conduct tests on prototypes, and oversee the manufacturing process of a variety of hardware components.
3. Conduct market research including specific product features, technology, and design.
4. Thoroughly check materials, procedures, and mechanical or electrical systems to ensure high-quality functional products.
5. Run tests on various components and features to identify and fix technical issues.
6. Evaluate project firmware needs, designing solutions, developing and implementing new firmware, debugging, and incorporating client feedback.
7. Design and execute test plans for embedded software, focusing on automation.
8. Support and maintain in-house technology equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
9. Conduct feasibility studies on design briefs and PCB concept feasibility.
10. Prepare concept simulations and BOM creation.
11. Finalize hardware and software design and supplier selection.
12. Review and finalize PCB (Gerber) designs with multidisciplinary teams.
13. Release PCB (Gerber) for vendor fabrication and review vendor fabrication procedures.
14. Conduct product simulation modeling and PCB fabrication and assembly.
15. Review and approve results of PCB design modifications and conduct system integration testing.
16. Submit samples for quality team reviews and ensure customer approval.

Travel Requirements: (Percentage of travel expected) 50% - 75%

Requirements:

1. Education: B.E/M Tech/ME Electronics
2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of hardware design, system/product level experience in the automotive industry.
3. Skills:
   Strong analytical skills and experience with market research and feasibility studies.
   Proficiency in simulation and modeling software for electronic components.
   Experience in automotive electronics hardware design, schematic capture, generation of design files, BOMs, troubleshooting, and release.
   Understanding of wire harness.
   Experience in hardware/product development, integration, testing, compliance, and support.
   Basic knowledge of NPI/NPD.
   Instrument knowledge: CROs, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzer, CMW500, LCRQ meter, etc.
   Design analysis for Thermal, EMI/EMC.
