Senior Naval Architect II - DDW

Key Accountabilities:

1. Lead a multidiscipline engineering team for basic or detail design scope for marine and offshore projects.
2. Develop detailed technical specifications based on client briefs by liaising with multidiscipline engineers.
3. Participate in design reviews and take necessary follow-up actions.
4. Liaise with Classification Societies.
5. Define project objectives by reviewing project contractual documents and plans, and the execution sequence of each engineering activity.
6. Manage engineering/procurement interface by incorporating vendor data in the design.
7. Incorporate safety in design and participate in HAZID/HAZOP reviews.
8. Assist in submission of engineering status reports for weekly and monthly progress meetings.
9. Ensure that engineering deliverables are issued according to the Project Plan and within allocated man-hours budget.
10. Ensure timely receipt of client engineering details to maintain smooth progress of engineering deliverables and highlight critical document requirements in advance.
11. Liaise with the client to assure that all technical/engineering requirements are met.
12. Ensure that the Safety, Quality & Environment requirements of the yard are strictly followed.
13. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the section head.
14. Obtain class approvals required from Classification Societies.
15. Ensure that engineering work is undertaken in accordance with Departmental Work Instructions, Procedures, and Standards.

Experience / Qualification & Skills:

1. Degree in Naval Architecture.
2. Proficient with software such as Ship design software, FEM software, and product-modelling software.
3. 12 - 15 years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore/Oil & Gas industry in a design office.
4. Minimum 10 years of experience as Lead Engineer/design lead in an Engineering Company/shipyard with New Building and Conversion facilities.
