Job Overview:

The Production Manager oversees the daily operations within the prefabricated building manufacturing facility, ensuring that the production process is efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with company goals and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and in-depth knowledge of prefab building processes, from material handling to final assembly and delivery. The Production Manager works to maximize productivity, maintain safety standards, and continuously improve production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demands and project deadlines. Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components. Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate delays or other challenges in the manufacturing process.
  • Process Management and Improvement: Monitor production workflows to ensure adherence to established processes and quality standards. Identify and implement process improvements to increase production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization. Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
  • Team Leadership and Staff Management: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of production workers, engineers, and technicians. Conduct training sessions to ensure all team members are properly trained in safety procedures, equipment usage, and production standards. Assign tasks and ensure effective resource allocation for the production process. Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback to encourage continuous improvement.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Ensure that all prefabricated components meet the required standards of quality and compliance with regulations. Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team to conduct inspections and resolve any quality issues. Develop and implement corrective actions for production defects.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with local and national regulations regarding workplace safety. Conduct regular safety audits and address any potential hazards in the workplace. Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of materials in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Cost Management: Monitor production costs to ensure that the budget is adhered to. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend ways to optimize production costs without compromising quality. Manage waste reduction efforts and ensure that raw materials are used efficiently.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with engineering, design, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations and timely project completion. Maintain clear communication with senior management, reporting on production status, challenges, and areas for improvement. Address any customer concerns regarding product specifications, delays, or quality.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control to ensure adequate stock levels of raw materials, components, and finished products. Coordinate with the supply chain team to manage inventory levels and reduce lead times.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience: At least 10 -15 years of experience in manufacturing management, with at least 10 years in a leadership role within the prefabricated building or construction industry. In-depth knowledge of prefabricated building materials, processes, and technologies. Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in production management software. Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in manufacturing. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in production management or lean manufacturing (e.g., FrameCAD) are a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position based in a factory setting.
  • Occasional overtime may be required to meet production deadlines.
  • Includes monitoring production lines and supervising on-site workers.
