Contracts & Commercial Director

Our client is a leading Project Management Consultancy based in Qatar. They are actively looking for a Contracts & Commercial Director to join their team. This role would be reporting into the Project Director and leading a team of Contracts, Commercial, and Claims.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee commercial, contracts, and claims aspects of construction in a mega project, including building & infrastructure works.
2. Prepare special reports to the Project Director as needed to investigate any problems related to the Scope of Services, Commercial, Contracts, and Claims aspects of the project and recommend solutions to Management.
3. Attend Executive meetings, Commercial, Contract, and Claims meetings and progress meetings as may be required to understand project status.
4. Advise the Project Director on any potential variation to the scope of work that may generate cost or time impact and present the Project Management’s assessment.
5. Assist the Project Director in leading the Project Management staff in assessing variations and claims and report the technical position of the proposed variation to the Client.

Experience:

1. Degree in Quantity Surveying/Civil Engineering/Construction law/Construction Management or equivalent.
2. Chartered Quantity Surveyor would be an advantage.
3. 20+ years’ experience in construction cost management.
4. MRICS is an advantage.
5. FCIArb is an advantage.
6. MCIOB is an advantage.
