Job Description
- Perform inspections and quality checks on pressure vessels, boilers, and piping systems in accordance with ASME U, U1, and R stamp requirements.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, welding procedures (WPS/PQR/WPQ), and material specifications to ensure compliance.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections, including dimensional checks, weld inspections, NDT (VT, PT, MT, UT, and RT), and hydrostatic testing.
- Verify compliance with ASME Code, National Board Inspection Code (NBIC), and client specifications.
- Ensure proper documentation of inspection reports, traveler sheets, test records, and welding logs.
- Coordinate with third-party inspectors (Authorized Inspectors – AI) and certification bodies for code compliance validation.
- Monitor welding operations, material traceability, and welder performance qualifications.
- Ensure adherence to quality management system (QMS) /ISO quality procedures.
- Investigate non-conformances, identify root causes, and support corrective/preventive actions.
- Train and guide shop personnel on ASME requirements and quality best practices.
- Ensure calibration of measuring and testing instruments used for inspections.
Desired Candidate Profile
Certification:
- Welding Inspector: AWS-CWI or CSWIP or equivalent
Experience: Min 3 years of Experience
Computer Literacy: Intermediate
Job Specific Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Hands-on experience with NDT techniques (RT, PT, MT). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
Knowledge: Strong understanding of ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & 2, NBIC (R Stamp), and related standards.
