Site Manager

Supervises and advises on the construction site, the subcontractors, crafts people, and other related workman on site.

1. Surveys daily the site and prepares reports for management plus feedback on the contractors and subcontractors.
2. Responsible for conducting progress meetings with the company and the contractors.
3. Checks plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy of calculations and ensures the quality standards of the site.
4. Ensures that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications and immediately reports poor quality or missing items.
5. Checks on the price for materials and makes cost-effective solutions and proposals for the project.
6. Manages and monitors on a daily basis the contract design documents and reports any discrepancies to the respective contractor or subcontractor. Any changes need to be in agreement with the architect responsible for the project.
7. Liaises with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project on a daily basis.
8. Liaises with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws.
9. Plans the work and efficiently organizes the site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.
10. Oversees quality control and health and safety matters on site.
11. Resolves any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.

Minimum Requirements:

1. B.Sc. in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
2. Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in the same field.
3. Preferably has previous experience in retail projects.
