This role is responsible for driving sustainable growth for UD Trucks by identifying and capitalizing on new market opportunities, developing strategic initiatives, and fostering strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders. This role spans the entire business development lifecycle, from market exploration and opportunity identification to sales strategy execution. The Business Development Manager ensures that all efforts align with corporate objectives, deliver measurable results, and maximize profitability. By leading business expansion efforts, this role contributes significantly to strengthening UD Trucks' market position and competitive edge.
Responsibilities and Duties
Market Exploration and Strategy Development:
- Identify and evaluate emerging market opportunities, including regions, customer segments, and product offerings, to drive growth.
- Lead the development of business cases for new market entry, assessing risks, potential, and feasibility to ensure sound decision-making.
- Design and implement long-term business development strategies to expand UD Trucks market presence, enhance competitiveness, and achieve sustainable growth.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform strategy adjustments.
Go-to-Market Strategy:
- Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies for new products and market segments, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Ensure product and service offerings meet market demand and business objectives.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure effective and seamless execution.
- Track and measure the effectiveness of go-to-market strategies, adjusting as needed to optimize performance and outcomes.
Partnership Development & Strategic Alliances:
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships and alliances that drive business growth, expand market reach, and enhance UD Trucks offering.
- Negotiate and finalize agreements with potential partners to strengthen business relationships and unlock mutual value.
- Cultivate and maintain long-term partnerships for continued value creation.
Project Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Lead cross-functional initiatives related to business development, ensuring that all projects align with strategic goals and drive measurable results.
- Coordinate efforts across sales, product development, marketing, finance, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution and achievement of objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional certifications or training in Sales, Project Management, or Strategic Management is a plus.
Experience and expertise:
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales strategy, or a similar role in the commercial vehicle or related industry.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying and pursuing new market opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Strong experience in managing large, complex accounts and building long-term customer relationships.
- Familiarity with cross-functional collaboration in global or multinational organizations.
- Experience in developing and executing go-to-market strategies for new products and market segments.
- Project management experience, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive initiatives from concept to execution.
