Job description

Roles and responsibilities

To support Supply Chain department to achieve highest possible service level at lowest total cost. Preventing delays and cancellation by adopting a cost-effective inventory provisioning. Responsible for adequate current asset inventory holding for all customers and to effectively manage spares for optimum utilization and effectively record and reports.

  • Inventory Monitoring: Track inventory levels, analyze stock movements, and monitor stock turn to ensure optimal inventory performance.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop dashboards, reports, and trend analysis to monitor key supply chain KPIs, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Demand Forecasting: Create and update forecast models based on historical data, market trends, and maintenance schedules to ensure accurate demand planning and material availability.
  • Reorder Management: Calculate and update reorder points in ERP systems for critical assets, balancing material availability with cost efficiency to meet target service levels.
  • Performance Analytics: Manage supply chain data analysis for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on operational and financial metrics, providing actionable insights for the SCM leadership team.
  • KPI Tracking: Measure performance against set targets and budgets, identify trends, and highlight any operational issues for corrective action.
  • Problem Solving: Analyze complex supply chain challenges using data mining, advanced analytics, and business acumen to develop effective solutions.
  • Strategic Insights: Translate analysis findings into actionable recommendations for revenue enhancement, cost reduction, and improved supply chain decisions.
  • Project Management: Lead supply chain optimization projects focused on inventory management, demand forecasting, cost savings, and process improvements, including documentation of standard operating procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Conduct recurring analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive ongoing process enhancements.

Selection Criteria:

  • Degree / Diploma in any field, preferably in Supply Chain Management
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience, preferably from Aviation sector.
  • Proficient in Computer Applications
  • Good English communication skills, verbal and written.

  • Analytical Skills

    • Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends in material usage, and forecast future needs. The material planner needs to make data-driven decisions to optimize stock levels and avoid shortages or overstock.
  • Supply Chain and Inventory Management Knowledge

    • In-depth knowledge of inventory management, supply chain logistics, and material planning techniques. Understanding concepts such as Just-in-Time (JIT), Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), and Reorder Points is essential for optimizing material flow.
  • Attention to Detail

    • Accuracy in tracking inventory levels, order quantities, and lead times is critical to avoid errors in material planning that could affect production schedules.
  • Communication Skills

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers, production teams, and other stakeholders. The ability to negotiate with suppliers and communicate material requirements clearly is essential.
  • Problem-Solving

    • Ability to resolve issues that may arise with material shortages, supply chain disruptions, or miscommunication with suppliers. Quick and effective decision-making is key to minimizing operational delays.
  • Time Management

    • Material planners often juggle multiple tasks, including managing inventory, processing orders, and forecasting future needs. Strong time management skills are needed to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • ERP and MRP Software Proficiency

    • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or specialized tools like Infor or Epicor to track inventory, create purchase orders, and manage material flow.
    • Advanced skills in Excel (or similar spreadsheet software) for inventory tracking, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Negotiation Skills

    • Ability to negotiate with suppliers for favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules. Effective negotiation can help reduce costs and improve lead times.
