Senior HSE Engineer
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards on construction sites.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to reduce hazards and incidents.
- Enforce adherence to safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct safety training sessions for onsite personnel, including site workers, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Promote and educate the workforce about health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and corrective actions taken.
- Oversee environmental compliance on construction sites, ensuring waste management, pollution control, and proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Continuously monitor construction sites to identify potential hazards, unsafe work practices, and noncompliance issues.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to ensure they are in safe working condition and regularly maintained.
- Maintain records of safety inspections, training certifications, and compliance activities.
- Provide ongoing safety advice and recommendations to site management and workers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 5 years of UAE experience in HSE.
- Certification in HSE management (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, local safety regulations, and environmental laws.
- Excellent knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
- Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct site inspections and risk assessments in a timely and efficient manner.
- A proactive, safety-conscious mindset with a commitment to preventing workplace injuries and environmental damage.
