Chargehand - Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chargehand Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Chargehand Carpenter, you will lead and supervise a team of carpenters while ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards on various construction projects throughout the city.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate carpentry work on construction sites, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to plan and execute carpentry projects.
• Assign tasks to team members and provide guidance and support as needed.
• Perform advanced carpentry work including framing, finishing, and custom woodworking.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of materials and supplies.
• Conduct regular quality checks and inspections of completed work.
• Collaborate with other trades and project managers to coordinate work schedules and resolve issues.
• Enforce safety regulations and best practices on the job site.
• Train and mentor junior carpenters to develop their skills and expertise.
• Prepare progress reports and communicate project status to management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as Chargehand in the Bridge Construction Industry.
• Advanced carpentry skills and proficiency in various woodworking techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Extensive knowledge of carpentry tools, equipment, and materials.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in carpentry preferred.
• Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA).
• Thorough understanding of construction industry standards, building codes, and regulations.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to different project sites within Dubai.
• Valid UAE driver's license preferred.
