We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Instrumentation and Telecom Engineer to oversee the instrumentation and telecom engineering activities onsite for a large oil and gas project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both instrumentation and telecommunications systems with a proven track record of working on ADNOC projects. The Lead Engineer will manage the installation, testing, and commissioning of critical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and ADNOC standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the onsite instrumentation and telecom engineering team, ensuring all activities comply with project specifications and Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings.
Review and approve design drawings, technical specifications, and documentation related to instrumentation and telecom systems, ensuring alignment with ADNOC standards.
Oversee the installation, configuration, and testing of instrumentation systems (including sensors, control systems, SCADA) and telecom systems (including fiber optics, telecommunication networks, and radio systems).
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to instrumentation and telecom equipment onsite to ensure smooth project execution.
Conduct site inspections and reviews to ensure installation meets design standards, safety protocols, and ADNOC requirements.
Coordinate with the construction team to ensure timely completion of instrumentation and telecom activities.
Collaborate closely with project management, HSE teams, and other engineering disciplines to maintain project safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Lead and participate in project meetings, such as constructability reviews and technical discussions, providing input on instrumentation and telecom-related matters.
Ensure the successful closing of engineering punch lists related to instrumentation and telecom systems during commissioning and pre-commissioning phases.
Maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, and assist in generating weekly and monthly reports.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Mandatory: Proven experience on ADNOC projects, specifically in instrumentation and telecom systems.
Minimum of 15-18 years of experience in instrumentation and telecom engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role on large-scale oil & gas or industrial projects.
Strong expertise in the design, installation, and commissioning of instrumentation systems, control systems, and telecom networks.
Familiarity with ADNOC standards as well as relevant codes and industry practices for instrumentation and telecom engineering.
Proficiency in instrumentation and telecom software tools and systems (e.g., SCADA, DCS, and telecom networking software).
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams onsite.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a hands-on approach to resolving onsite challenges.
