Roles and Responsibilities
We are looking for a skilled Project Engineer - Electrical to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, execution, and completion of electrical systems for construction and engineering projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with experience in project management, electrical engineering design, and field supervision to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review project plans, specifications, and schedules for electrical engineering projects.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other project elements.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost estimations for project components.
- Design, review, and approve electrical systems, schematics, and layouts according to project requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and standards, including NEC, IEEE, and local building codes.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation for project approval and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and instrumentation.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure quality standards are met and identify any potential issues early.
- Monitor project progress and resolve any technical issues or deviations from the project plan.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
- Review vendor proposals, select appropriate materials, and maintain a balance between quality and budget.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering within the construction, engineering, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of electrical design principles, project management, and construction processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as NEC, IEEE, and IEC.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or related certification.
- Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and building management systems.
- Experience working on large construction, commercial, or industrial projects.
