Job description

The IT Support Assistant is responsible for assisting with the maintenance and troubleshooting of the organization's IT systems and equipment. They provide technical support to end-users, diagnose hardware and software issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks. The IT Support Assistant must have a good understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts. They should possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills to effectively assist end-users and resolve IT-related issues.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide technical support via phone, email, or in person to end-users.
  2. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and other IT equipment.
  3. Install, configure, and update software applications as needed.
  4. Set up and maintain computer networks, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  5. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system backups and antivirus updates.
  6. Create and maintain documentation of IT systems and procedures.
  7. Assist in the setup and support of audio-visual equipment for meetings and events.
  8. Train end-users on the proper use of IT systems and software.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Diploma or degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in IT support or a similar role.
  3. Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  4. Familiarity with different operating systems, such as Windows and macOS.
  5. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
