Engineer Materials Level 1

Key Accountabilities

Scope

Participate in the various engineering development teams and provide inputs on the selection of composite and/or polymeric materials, and the manufacturing and processing of such materials.

Advise

Liaise with technical customers/project teams to determine their materials and testing requirements.

Execute

1. Optimize existing materials manufacturing processes and technical capabilities through evaluation and recommendations, using sound scientific, mathematical and engineering principles.
2. Monitor and advise on quality standards in manufacturing and finishing of parts and components.
3. Provide a scope of materials testing services to all companies under the Group.
4. Lead/participate in materials related R&D projects as required.
5. Liaise with Technical teams in order to expand Halcon internal digital materials database.
6. Assist with product inspection, development of inspection criteria, and training employees on customer requirements for products.
7. Ensure that all projects and tasks are documented in accordance with engineering standards.
8. Ensure that all projects and tasks are in accordance with procedures for health and safety.
9. Compile thorough documents, manuals, materials investigations, and technical reports on testing procedures and test results to both internal and external stakeholders.
10. Consult with third parties like external materials suppliers, materials manufacturing companies, etc., to leverage their specialized skills and partnerships wherever required.
11. Contribute to the development of new projects and grants by conducting literature searches and experimental research.
12. Always, strictly adhere to safety standards and protocols and ensure a safe working environment.

Knowledge/Qualification

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering / Materials Science / Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering subject.
