Job Title: QC Welding Inspector

Main Responsibilities:
- Inspect and evaluate welding operations and procedures for compliance with industry standards codes and safety regulations.
- Perform visual inspections of welded joints to ensure quality and integrity.
- Review welding procedures and ensure adherence to required specifications and codes.
- Conduct nondestructive testing (NDT) such as ultrasonic testing (UT) radiographic testing (RT) magnetic particle inspection (MPI) and dye penetrant inspection (DPI).
- Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports and documentation of welding inspections.
- Collaborate with the welding team and management to resolve quality issues and improve welding practices.
- Monitor and control welding parameters such as heat input welding speed and material specifications.
- Ensure welding operations comply with client specifications contract requirements and safety standards.
- Assist in the selection of welding methods and materials to optimize the quality of welds.
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; formal education or certification in Welding Technology Quality Control or a related field is preferred.
- Certification as a Welding Inspector (e.g. AWS CWI CSWIP or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in welding inspection preferably in the oil & gas construction or manufacturing industry.
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques codes and standards (e.g. ASME AWS API).
- Expertise in various NDT methods such as UT RT MPI and DPI.
- Familiarity with welding procedures and the ability to verify compliance with specifications.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills to identify and troubleshoot welding defects.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and welding symbols.
- Good communication skills for interacting with the welding team management and clients.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to ensure compliance with safety standards during welding operations.
