Health & Safety Officer

Leams Education is inviting applications from school experienced Health & Safety Officers with NEBOSH certification, to ensure that all health and safety protocols are being adhered to in compliance with KHDA/DHA/DM guidelines.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Developing regulations, policies, standards and guidelines to improve health and safety procedures for the school related to the safety and security of students, people and property.
2. Monitoring the implementation of these procedures.
3. Training relevant staff on best practices and Dubai Municipality (DM) & KHDA requirements.
4. Conducting all necessary training for students and staff.
5. Managing the designated isolation room on the school premises.
6. Providing guidelines on the daily and continuous cleaning and sanitisation requirements for school premises.
7. Adhering to DHA regulations.
8. Undertaking fire safety audits, and coordinating with the Civil Defense during inspections and other fire & safety issues.
9. Undertaking evacuation drills and producing appropriate reports.
10. Conducting and delivering fire safety training and orientations to all newly hired employees and conducting refresher courses on an annual basis for all employees and maintaining records of attendees.
11. Identifying potential safety or fire hazards; taking action or making recommendations to eliminate hazards during regular inspection rounds.
12. Conducting all necessary contact tracing procedures by coordinating with the school clinic (which includes contact tracing, recording of contacts’ details and all actions taken in the HASANA system).
13. Managing all emergency situations abiding by H&S protocols.
14. Updating contact and emergency numbers for staff and students.
15. Scheduling stakeholders’ meetings to address priorities and result-oriented solutions.
16. Coordinating with the operations/maintenance team to ensure that H&S safety protocols are strictly followed.
17. Stopping any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
18. Recording and investigating incidents; conducting a risk analysis.
19. Preparing reports on occurrences and providing statistical information to the school management.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a school Health and Safety Officer with NEBOSH/IOSH CERTIFICATION.
2. Knowledge of the principles of safety, accident, and fire prevention.
3. Ability to maintain composure and respond properly during emergencies.
4. Knowledge of regulatory policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
5. Experience in writing incident reports and policies for health and safety.
6. Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
