Job Purpose

Ensure ICSS system healthiness and integrity by carrying out the required system health check, analysis, and planning the corrective action/action plan to rectify the identified failures, faults, etc. Ensure the preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans are planned and conducted on time and with high quality. Lead the in-house system upgrade and enhancement projects to maintain the system up to date and fulfilling the OEM and ADNOC ICSS and cyber security guidelines and standards.

Job Specific Accountabilities

  1. Ensure the regular maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with plant maintenance philosophy in line with ADNOC Onshore and vendor procedures and standards, provide technical assessment, support, and participate in the repair strategy for non-routine systems repairs and monitoring control systems database.
  2. Monitor and analyze ICSS networks and system hardware components states, graphics, and process control loop such as network switches, servers, workstations, controllers, IO modules, power supply modules, redundant communication links with 3rd party systems on a daily basis and prepare corrective actions.
  3. Provide technical support to panel operators and operation engineers during process plant/equipment trips/failures, troubleshoot, and identify the root cause.
  4. Study and prepare the ICSS and plant trips root cause analysis of the failures.
  5. Conduct periodic backups for integrated controls systems database, servers, switches, and firewalls and ensure the latest backup is available in case of any system failure.
  6. Participate in the development and update of the system Disaster Recovery Plan and systems backup/restore procedures.
  7. Ensure periodic backups of the system are taken and stored properly as per the company guidelines and procedures.
  8. Identify the life cycle of all control system components including hardware & software and plan for ICSS system upgrade to ensure ICSS system availability and integrity. Participate and lead the development and execution of system upgrades as recommended by OEM and to meet the ADNOC guidelines and standards.
  9. Assist in the improvement of monitoring systems (software and hardware) and carry out anti-virus scanning and deploy the latest anti-virus definitions to the system components.
  10. Responsible for ICSS system management including but not limited to login as administrator, maintain system passwords, and make changes periodically as per the requirements and company procedures.
  11. Manage and restrict the usage of removable storage devices and ensure data is in/out through approved procedures of the company.
  12. Update Windows patches and ICSS OEM recommended fixes whenever required and as per company procedures and guidelines.
  13. Coordinate with ICSS OEM for periodic health checks and cyber security checks in line with company guidelines and procedures.
  14. Coordinate with OT support team for periodic validation of SIEM events and management of Data diode.
  15. Coordinate with FDIS team for updating new tags and resolving communication issues whenever they occur.
  16. Participate in design review, alarm rationalization workshops, FAT, IFAT, SAT, and commissioning of new ICSS systems which will be deployed as part of new projects or upgrades.
  17. Participate in process safety investigations, HAZOP, and SIL study and revalidation activities.
  18. Carry out regular analysis of process and system alarms and submit reports to management. Identify bad actors and work towards reducing nuisance alarms, participate in alarm management workshops during project stages. Conduct alarm rationalization workshops and prepare an action plan to meet the desired alarm standards requirements and KPI targets. Maintain the master alarm database and review the changes periodically and share with operations.
  19. Coordinate with operations and resolve issues related to process control, tuning, alarms, etc.


Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering discipline or equivalent.


Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • 8-10 years of experience in ICSS maintenance including 5 years in the oil and gas industry, deep knowledge of DCS/PLC systems, system architectures, programming, communication protocols, and industry standards related to ICSS.
