General Summary:
- Perform maintenance and solve technical issues in Utility & Water Plants.
- Identify equipment problems and apply solutions to ensure continuous utility supply.
- Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the condition of plant equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning & Execution:
- Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for utilities & water plants.
- Communicate with utility operations teams for smooth maintenance activities.
- Execute daily/weekly maintenance plans to reduce downtime and optimize production.
- Coordinate with repair shops/contractors for maintenance work and evaluate equipment performance post-maintenance.
- Prepare spare parts list and maintain updated specifications for purchasing.
- Maintain records and asset histories for future maintenance planning.
- Perform maintenance tasks under supervision when needed.
Troubleshooting:
- Use specialized skills to solve plant and equipment issues for continuous utility supply.
- Support maintenance teams on non-routine issues.
- Implement permanent solutions for recurring problems.
- Report production-affecting issues to supervisors for quick resolution.
- Suggest and implement technical improvements for utilities & water plants.
- Modify processes or procedures to solve technical problems efficiently.
Safety, Quality & Environment:
- Follow all company safety, quality, health, and environmental policies.
- Review and improve safety standards in Utility & Water plants when necessary.
- Participate in safety training and report health/safety issues.
- Follow permit-to-work procedures and ensure area clearance before maintenance.
Leadership:
- Lead maintenance tasks with a team when required.
- Assist in sourcing spare parts from different suppliers to reduce inventory and costs.
- Act as task force leader during maintenance or shutdown periods.
Organization Development:
- Attend work regularly and report to supervisors.
- Communicate with team members for interplant activities and maintenance tasks.
- Follow supervisor instructions for additional tasks.
- Follow company safety and health policies.
- Execute standard maintenance procedures while meeting quality and legal requirements.
Additional Duties:
- Prepare Bill of Materials for new equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic technical skills related to rotary equipment (steel, fertilizer, petrochemical plants).
- Basic computer skills and SAP knowledge.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot plant issues.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education:
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering.
Preferred Training:
- Basic knowledge of bearings and rotary equipment spare parts.
Experience:
- 4+ years in maintenance of rotary equipment in steel, fertilizer, or petrochemical plants.
- Experience in preventive/corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, fabrication, and welding.
- Basic English language proficiency.

Additional Key Responsibilities (Testing & Reporting):
Product Testing:
- Perform and record tests on production samples to meet specifications.
- Ensure products are safe and meet performance standards.
- Supervise technicians and chemists involved in testing.
- Ensure compliance with Emirates Steel Nuclear QS Program, ASME codes, and customer requirements.
Reporting Abnormalities:
- Report surface issues, yield, and tensile values to mill and QC for corrective action.
- Conduct failure analyses to prevent future issues.
- Ensure testing procedures follow required standards.
- Prepare and issue reports.
Data Management:
- Store mechanical test results in SAP for test certificate printing.
System Compliance:
- Follow Quality Systems (IMS, ISO 17025) and company testing procedures.
Non-Routine Testing:
- Perform non-routine tests for QC and mill decisions on held bundles.
Sample Preservation:
- Keep defective samples for inspection by the department manager.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on testing and measuring equipment.
- Report issues, breakdowns, and required spares to supervisors.
Safety & Environment:
- Follow company safety, health, and environmental protocols to avoid injuries or equipment damage.
Skills Required:
- Measurement and testing skills.
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 standards.
- Ability to interpret test results and write reports.
- SAP knowledge and basic computer skills.
