Job Summary

A Manufacturing Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing production schedules, ensuring efficient material flow, and meeting customer demands while maintaining cost-effectiveness. This role involves close collaboration with production teams, supply chain functions, and engineering departments to develop and implement effective manufacturing plans.


Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts, resource availability, and manufacturing capacity.
  2. Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  3. Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to accommodate changes in demand, delays, or unforeseen disruptions.
  4. Analyze manufacturing workflows and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  5. Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to address production issues and optimize processes.
  6. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
  7. Generate reports on production performance, inventory levels, and material requirements.
  8. Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage planning and scheduling activities.
  9. Support cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and delivery timelines.
  10. Communicate with stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
  11. Point of contact for internal customers and product lines - provide updates and responses for enquiries, lead times and production status.
Education & Experience Required

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  2. 5+ years Experience in manufacturing planning, preferably in the oil and gas equipment industry.
  3. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., JdEdwards).
  4. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  5. Strong knowledge about manufacturing processes and shopfloor.
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  7. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  8. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
