Your Day to Day

To deliver a great guest experience, the In Room Dining Server will serve food and beverages in a timely manner, helping guests to have memorable experiences whenever they dine.

Some of your main role responsibilities are:

1. To provide excellent quality service as per the Hotel Standard Operating Procedure
2. Prepare food and beverages trolleys/tray for service to guests and serve the food according to established health and presentation standards
3. Be attentive to the guests' needs
4. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness at work and guest areas
5. Collecting and returning food and beverage items to the proper area
6. Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of guests; check identification whenever the age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable
7. Perform department/outlet opening or closing duties as required. Ensure that wait staff stations are clean and maintained throughout the shift
8. Follow hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times. Immediately report any safety/service incident to the Supervisor or Manager on duty
9. Take action to solve guest problems/complaints and use established guidelines for service recovery to ensure guest satisfaction
10. Work as a team and communicate and coordinate with other departments to ensure excellent quality and service
11. May receive guest payments and process transactions as outlined in the cash and charge procedures as needed
12. Interacts with Kitchen and Stewarding departments to ensure that the operation runs smoothly
13. Has a thorough knowledge of all Hotel facilities and is able to answer guest questions in a quick, polite, and helpful manner

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we’re looking for:

1. Minimum 1-2 years experience in hotels in a similar position
2. Food service experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations preferred. Must be at the minimum age to serve alcohol in line with any local legislative requirements.
3. Communication skills used frequently when interacting with guests, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors.
4. Reading and writing abilities used often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
5. Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit
6. Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and/or holidays
7. Ability to perform the following: Carrying or lifting items, moving around the restaurant, bending, stooping, kneeling, handling food objects; plates, trays, glasses, etc.
