Job description

The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department is looking to recruit ambitious staff in legal support in Advocacy Firms Licensing Affairs Section at Advocates and Legal Consultants Affairs Directorate to contribute to the implementation of its duties and functions in accordance with the procedures approved in this regard.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  1. To receive advocates applications and ensure that the requirements are satisfied;
  2. To receive advocacy firms applications and ensure that the requirements as stipulated by Bylaw Concerning Licensing Advocacy Firms and its amendments are satisfied;
  3. To followup updating all changes to advocates registration particulars on database of Legal Profession Licensing system;
  4. To followup updating all changes to advocacy firms particulars on database of Legal Profession Licensing system;
  5. To receive customers inquiries and provide them with necessary information for completing their transactions;
  6. To prepare letters and issued certificates or electronic correspondence according to the approved template;
  7. To followup on cases with the relevant organisational units on a daily basis and document all taken actions in their regard;
  8. To participate in listing strategic and operational performance indicators of the organisational unit;
  9. To suggest areas of improvement and development of the organisational unit procedures;
  10. To prepare and draft minutes of meetings relevant to the organisational units work and submit the same to the Line Manager for approval;

  12. Any other duty assigned to them by the Line Manager or the Director of Directorate.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelors degree in law or its equivalent.
  2. Knowledge of legislation in force in the Emirate of Dubai.
  3. Legal drafting skills.
  4. The ability to work as one team and deal with workload.
  5. Computer literacy.
  6. Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
  7. Preferable to have at least two years of experience in legal work.
