We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Officer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The HSE Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies at our project sites. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of HSE principles and practices, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  1. Responsible for overall site Safety, Health, and Environment management.
  2. Prepare site safety plan & procedures and implement safety policy.
  3. Conduct safety meetings at least once every month and conduct the site safety audit, reporting to the management.
  4. Conduct safety training and other necessary training as deemed fit by the management.
  5. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections and document them for reference.
  6. Consult with workers and management on the best approach to deliver a safe working environment for all workers.
  7. Conduct risk assessment programs for site work activities.
  8. Conduct audits for the site, contractors, and sub-contractors; raise NCR, accident, and incident reports.

Client Service Management:

  1. Internal and external client liaison.
  2. Ability to build and maintain a safety environment at the site.
  3. Experience in infrastructure project HSE supervision management.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
  2. Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
  3. Maintain the health and safety environment at the workplace.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of 12 years of experience in Operations & Maintenance, preferably in Pumping Station, Construction rehabilitation work, and Wastewater background.
  3. NEBOSH IGC level 3 is mandatory and other HSE-related Diploma certifications. Abu Dhabi Public Health Center Practitioner Course.
  4. Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, particularly in the UAE & Abu Dhabi.
  5. Possess a UAE Driving License.
