What you'll do:
- The category manager will be responsible for the category strategy and have complete ownership of the category P&L. Work closely with Sr management as well as account managers on planning and delivering business strategy.
- Inspire, lead and manage a team of buyers and merchandisers. Effectively communicate and enable the team to deliver their KPIs and manage their performance.
- Drive category reviews by establishing mechanisms to track and evaluate sales performance. Be aware of market sales trends and competitor trading activities to identify critical business factors and proposed action plans to increase sales and profitability.
- Manage, strengthen and grow key brand relationships. Define growth opportunities.
- Review the Capital Allocation and work with the teams to determine the buying requirements and formulate a buying plan for Namshi, based on the analysis of the historical trends and future forecasts.
- Create buying plans to ensure profitability by maintaining and building consumer focused lines and managing SKU performance and efficiency.
- Review and negotiate brand contracts to ensure favorable terms for Namshi and reduce any potential risks on stocks or margin.
- Identify new opportunities to source products and ensure that the category maintains its competitive edge. This would include conducting opportunity analysis, supplier competitive landscape, supplier selection, supplier management, process optimization and execution of agreements.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams such as finance, marketing, operations, logistics, legal, product etc. to identify and implement opportunities/processes to influence improvement in services.
What you'll need:
- Masters in Business Administration or a similar field.
- 8+ years of experience in category management for local sourcing or buying experiences with major retailers, experience in multinational company and cross border business preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills between internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly data driven and analytical profile and able to make data driven decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically.
- Understanding of current market conditions demonstrated ability to drive savings using different category strategies.
- Well-developed understanding of the ecommerce industry. Strong influencing skill to persuade and close the deals.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact in a cross-functional environment with all levels of executive management.
