For the seventh year in a row, Cognite is undergoing rapid growth, and we are seeking a seasoned, forward-leaning executive to work in close relation with our strategic customer and investor Saudi Aramco.

In this role, the Senior Account Executive is responsible for managing and developing our strategic customer and investor Saudi Aramco, and the joint venture CNTXT. You’ll develop deep relationships and establish multiple touch-points to ensure joint agreed-upon business goals are met. Your passion to scale business directly and through our Partner Ecosystem fuels Cognite’s growth and is a key element in the Cognite Corporate Strategy.

You are a collaboration catalyst, both externally and internally, and you care about great results and quality. You are independent, make things happen, seek opportunities for improvement and are great at building trusted relationships, and developing business growth. This is a senior individual contributor role, that may grow into a people manager role as the team grows.

  • Managing the relationship with Cognite’s most valuable customers. Owning relationship with executive stakeholders, budget owners and decision makers.
  • Developing a trusted advisor relationship with key stakeholders and executive sponsors.
  • Ensuring all Cognite activities are closely aligned with the customer's business value and business strategy, allowing them to realize the full potential of Cognite’s products.
  • Supporting by Cognite Global value team, developing value roadmaps and customer success plans, charting a path to the customer’s desired outcome with Cognite software, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of Cognite's products, identifying expansion opportunities for account managers to close.
  • Developing an account strategy and maintaining an internal account plan to align Cognite around the account plans and needs.
  • Negotiating and securing renewals for your assigned accounts.
  • Responsible to nurture and close upsell/cross-sell opportunities to expand customer lifetime value.
  • Own assigned accounts pipeline and forecast for all horizons.
  • Serving as the “voice of the customer” to both product management and customer community management.
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships with select Partners, incl. establishing and driving executive connections with partner leadership and sales teams.
  • Grow Cognite revenue through partner engagement.
  • Lead development and execution of joint business plans, goals and go-to-market activities/strategy, supported by cross-functional teams.
  • Identify new joint business opportunities and drive joint leads, that can be handed over to Cognite Sales team to co-sell with the Partner.
  • Drive Partner enablement and competency to ensure repeat sales and delivery capacity.
  • Identify joint case studies and success stories, and evangelize partner offerings.
  • Orchestrate cross-department collaboration and provide partner feedback to Cognite Marketing (messaging, campaigns & outreach), Sales (target account and opportunities), Customer Success (joint customer engagements), and Engineering (productization to enable partner delivery/sales).
Key qualifications for this role:
  • Industry knowledge working with or for Global Services partners, like System Integrators and/or Business Consulting firms.
  • Success in delivering go-to-market strategies and business results.
  • Proven experience engaging and influencing senior executives and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience with foundational SaaS/cloud technologies, and service provider ecosystems.
  • Great communications skills (English), presentation skills and ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional audiences.
  • Ability to deal with a fast-paced, high-growth working environment.
  • Shows persistence and adaptability when faced with unexpected challenges.
  • Preferred industry experience within asset-heavy technology industry.
  • Experience with commercial partner models, contract negotiations and establishing partner programs is positive but not a hard requirement.
Key experiences that will set this role up for success:
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject or work experience for the role.
  • 10+ years of experience leading customer engagements as a customer success manager, technical account manager or related role.
  • A rich understanding of customer success methodologies and practices including (but not limited to) segmentation, customer journey, and customer health scoring.
  • Commercial experience in renewals and/or upselling relevant enterprise B2B software.
  • Confidence when running executive business reviews and engaging with C-level sponsors.
  • Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills, including the ability to chair meetings or host webinars.
  • A proven track record in your industry and strong network in your dedicated vertical.
  • Knowledge of the heavy asset industry, Saudi Aramco or the Middle East oil & gas ecosystem.
Skills that will help you stand out:
  • Experience with data contextualization technology and software as a service (SaaS).
  • A proven track record of nurturing green accounts through a white-glove approach and partnership with customer stakeholders.
  • Experience working at a high-growth scale-up organization.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with teams across corporate functions.
  • A self-sufficient character able to meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
  • An ability to thrive with limited structure.
  • A results-oriented individual who thrives working in a fast-paced environment and maintains a calm approach when operating under pressure.
  • Speak a language other than English with business fluency.
