Job description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets for group and leisure segments.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor offerings, and potential business opportunities within the group and leisure markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, event planners, and other stakeholders to promote the hotel’s offerings.
  • Prepare and present customized proposals and contracts for groups, ensuring that all client requirements are met.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with clients to maximize revenue and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Organize and participate in sales events, trade shows, and promotional activities to increase brand awareness and attract potential clients.
  • Work closely with the hotel operations team to ensure seamless service delivery and exceed guest expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts, and market analysis. Provide regular reports to the Director of Sales/Assistant Director of Sales on performance metrics.
  • Mentor and train junior sales staff as needed, fostering a collaborative and high-performing sales culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry, with a focus on groups and leisure.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel property management systems.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.

    • Networking: Attending industry events, trade shows, and conferences to expand the network of potential clients and industry contacts.
  • Sales Team Leadership

    • Supervising Sales Staff: Managing a sales team, providing guidance, motivation, and training to help them achieve sales targets.
    • Coaching and Development: Conducting regular coaching sessions and performance reviews, identifying areas for improvement, and providing training to develop the skills of the sales team.
    • Team Collaboration: Encouraging collaboration among team members to foster a supportive and results-driven environment.
  • Revenue Management

    • Pricing Strategy: Working closely with the revenue management team to optimize pricing and availability to maximize revenue from rooms, events, and other services.
    • Sales Forecasting: Preparing and analyzing sales forecasts and reports to assess performance, adjust strategies, and plan for future growth.
    • Budgets and Targets: Monitoring sales budgets and ensuring that sales targets are met or exceeded, while staying within budget constraints.
  • Sales Presentations and Proposals

    • Client Proposals: Creating and presenting detailed sales proposals, presentations, and contracts to potential clients, ensuring that they align with client needs and the company’s offerings.
    • Negotiating Contracts: Handling contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms for both the client and the business, and closing deals effectively.
    • Site Inspections: Conducting property tours and site inspections for potential clients, showcasing the venue, its amenities, and services.
