Reporting directly to the project leader for the project on which they are working, the Project Engineer’s primary responsibility is to test and commission all items of Honeywell installed or provided equipment to the satisfaction of the customer and/or contractual requirements.
The Project Engineer must ensure that all Engineering, testing and verification documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner so that all items that are reported to have been tested will be correct when assessed by an independent person such as a consultant.
The Project Engineer must understand the desired outcome of the project as well as the workings of the Honeywell installed product that they are working with.
They must be able to make changes to wiring, configuration or replace product as required to ensure that each individual device and the system as a whole operate in accordance with the contract and associated approved documentation.
Timely and accurate completion of daily site diaries and recording of any change requests or delay to our progress are critical elements of this role.
They must be able to interface with customers and staff at all levels.
Responsibilities
Testing and checking of each individual item in the system to ensure that the following is correct and verified:
Cabling is correct from device to controller, cabling has been installed in accordance with the wiring rules of the country and cable tags (Ferules) have been installed correctly on both ends of the cable
The field device has been installed in accordance with the instructions, the field device is working correctly and is accurately calibrated and the control operation in which the device belongs is working correctly
All primary controllers are operational and all applications programs are installed and operational and all Head end graphics have been tested and checked for accuracy
All customer or contractually required reports have been established
Knowledge and/or prior experience in ELV, Security, Building management, Life Safety systems
The Project Engineer is the primary person responsible for the handover of a building to the client/consultant and the service team.
Provide feedback to the engineers and CARE programmers of errors and changes that were required due to site-based conditions and thereby assist in the production of as-installed documentation.
Maintain Site Diaries and progress documentation as required by the Project Manager
Ensure applicable local and industry codes and standards are upheld and that Honeywell SOPs are adhered to.
Desired candidate profile
Minimum requirements include an industry recognized electrical / electronic technical certificate.
The locally required HS&E permits and training
Knowledge and/or prior experience in ELV, Security, Building management, Life Safety systems
