Project Engineer
Job description
Project Implementation:
- Develop project progress charts and align them with company policies.
- Prepare engineering designs specifications cost estimates and technical reports.
Site Management:
- Oversee all site construction and repair activities for bridges and underpasses.
- Plan site activities with clear timeframes and ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor site activities identify delays and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with approved shop drawings method statements and project specifications.
Team & Resource Management:
- Manage and guide Site Engineers subcontractor Engineers and Surveyors.
- Ensure adequate availability of resources and tools in good condition.
- Monitor the site teams understanding of their roles and outputs.
Inspection & Reporting:
- Arrange for work inspection requests at agreed hold points.
- Review daily reports and submit them to the Engineer.
- Oversee inspection approvals and manage resubmissions of rejected work inspection requests (WIRs).
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure all materials used are from approved suppliers and inspected.
- Collaborate with the Technical and QA/QC teams for system implementation.
- Liaise with vendors and subcontractors ensuring adherence to project targets.
Engineering & Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain engineering and technical specifications test manuals and maintenance procedures.
- Witness and coordinate testing commissioning and operations at all locations.
- Document and implement approved modifications to the project.
HSE & Environmental Monitoring:
- Ensure the implementation of Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Monitor environmental and climate conditions to ensure smooth site workflow.
Communication & Coordination:
- Participate in daily project meetings and toolbox talks with project teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain effective communication between the commercial department project office and client representatives.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Identify potential cost variations and scope changes.
- Maintain an inventory of project equipment and plan mobilization/demobilization.
- Ensure adherence to company policies procedures and integrated management systems.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in bridge or tunnel construction projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering design project progress chart implementation and compliance with local authority requirements.
