Installation, Maintenance, and Repair: Perform installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of telecom hardware and network infrastructure, including routers, switches, antennas, and other telecommunications equipment.
Equipment Calibration: Perform calibration and validation of Test and Measurement equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters) according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot telecom systems, including fault identification and resolution for both in-country and out-of-country hardware.
Technical Support: Provide hands-on support and guidance for on-site technicians and outsourced personnel.
Assist in resolving complex technical issues and provide troubleshooting expertise during the lifecycle of projects.
Network Testing: Conduct network testing, signal quality analysis, and data integrity checks to ensure optimal performance of telecom equipment and systems.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports on repair activities, calibration processes, and troubleshooting results.
Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and manage the technical library of telecom equipment manuals, service reports, and calibration logs.
System Upgrades and Optimization: Perform system upgrades and optimization tasks to improve the efficiency and functionality of telecom systems.
Equipment Inventory and Procurement: Monitor and manage the stock of telecom equipment, spare parts, and tools.
Assist in the procurement process for required components and technical resources.
Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with technical standards, safety protocols, and industry regulations in all activities.
Training: Assist in the delivery of technical training sessions to new technicians and outsourced staff, ensuring proficiency in telecom equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements: Diploma, degree, or equivalent certification in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
Technical Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in telecom maintenance, repair, and equipment calibration, with expertise in network systems, RF equipment, and telecom hardware.
Knowledge of Telecom Systems: Extensive knowledge of telecom infrastructure, including wireless networks, data transmission systems, and telecom hardware (e.g., routers, antennas, switches, fiber optics).
Calibration Skills: Experience with Test and Measurement equipment and understanding of calibration standards (e.g., NIST, ISO).
Troubleshooting Expertise: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues across a wide range of telecom equipment and network systems.
Software Skills: Familiarity with network management software, diagnostic tools, and industry-specific telecom systems.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to interact with internal teams, external vendors, and customers.
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of 5G, LTE, and IP-based telecom technologies.
Experience with telecom network planning, implementation, and optimization.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
