AutoCAD Draughtsman - Mechanical

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsman with expertise in the Building Maintenance Units (BMU) industry. The ideal candidate will create accurate technical drawings, designs, and layouts for BMU systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. This role requires strong AutoCAD skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and project managers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Drafting and Design:
   1. Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings for BMU systems using AutoCAD.
   2. Prepare layouts, schematics, and assembly drawings based on project requirements.
   3. Revise and update drawings as required to accommodate design changes or feedback.
2. Technical Documentation:
   1. Maintain accurate records of drawings, specifications, and revisions.
   2. Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
   3. Prepare detailed bill of materials (BOM) from designs.
3. Collaboration:
   1. Work closely with engineers and project teams to interpret design concepts and requirements.
   2. Provide technical support during project planning and execution.
   3. Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and vendors to address technical queries.
4. Quality Assurance:
   1. Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
   2. Identify and resolve potential design issues before production.
5. Compliance and Standards:
   1. Stay updated on the latest BMU industry standards and best practices.
   2. Ensure designs adhere to local and international building codes and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. Experience:
   1. Proven experience as an AutoCAD Draftsman, preferably in the BMU or related industry.
   2. Familiarity with BMU systems, including facade access equipment and related components.
3. Technical Skills:
   1. Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
   2. Knowledge of other drafting software (e.g., Revit, SolidWorks) is a plus.
   3. Understanding of structural and mechanical design principles.
4. Soft Skills:
   1. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
   2. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
   3. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
   4. Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
