Associate Professor in Architectural Engineering

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

1. Graduate with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering from a reputable university
2. Outstanding teaching record
3. Outstanding research and publications record in top journals
4. Adequate experience in supervising student projects and thesis papers
5. Record of collaborative and interdisciplinary research would be an advantage
6. Excellent record in community service and scholarly activities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop and deliver courses to students in specified discipline areas of study
2. Evaluate and monitor individual student progress and provide feedback to sustain student success
3. Research, organize and manage instructional resources, courses outlines, and community networks
4. Conduct high quality research in their own field and publish research outcomes in reputable journals and conferences
5. Provide consultative expertise as a subject matter expert to the local industry through pre-approved partnership projects by the University
6. Ensure a respectful and culturally sensitive learning environment in all college focused activities
7. Establish and maintain effective work relationships across the organization and community
8. Motivate and inspire confidence in others (students and colleagues) to overcome limitations to personal growth and success
9. Actively seek out methods, procedures and resources to best achieve course and lesson objectives
10. Support and participate in accreditation initiatives
11. Maintain relationships with students that are conducive to learning
12. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

1. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
2. Familiarity with the Credit Hour academic system
3. Ability to supervise student work
4. Ability to provide academic advising for students
5. Ability to conduct independent research and publish in reputable journals and conferences

7. Knowledge of academic program planning and implementation
