Role: Finance Specialist

Do you have extensive modelling experience and hands-on expertise in creating data visualization tools, particularly in Power BI? Are you looking to elevate your career by working in Finance for Venture Building, helping create ventures from cutting-edge technologies developed by the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) in Abu Dhabi? If that is you, we are seeking a Finance Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Modelling: Prepare financial plans and build complex Excel-based financial models for business cases and analysis. Conduct scenario analysis to assess business risks.
  2. Data visualization: Develop interactive and insightful financial dashboards and reports using Power BI and other visualization tools to support data-driven decision-making. Transform complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior management and key stakeholders.
  3. Investment presentations: Support the financial assessment of new companies / technologies by analyzing quantitatively the commercial and financial viability of the new ventures. Present findings to senior audiences.
  4. Complex Financial Analysis: Perform detailed analyses of financial information and evaluate performance for the holding company and its new ventures (subsidiaries).
  5. Financial Reports: Prepare and present accurate, comprehensive, and understandable financial reports for top management.
  6. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead annual budgeting, coordinate with different departments for budgetary requirements, and build models incorporating assumptions and cost drivers.
  7. Monitoring: Monitor financial plans, track actual financials, build forecasts, perform risk assessments, and adjust original plans as necessary.
  8. Collaborating with Key Stakeholders: Work closely with management and key stakeholders to gather and analyze financial information to support business decisions.
  9. Capital Raising Support: Assist in creating materials to support raising capital from outside investors.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  2. Finance Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting concepts and the application of financial techniques such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Net Present Value (NPV), and Internal Rate of Return (IRR).
  3. Advanced Excel Skills: Expertise in advanced Excel modeling.
  4. Power BI experience and other visualization tools.
  5. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, collaboration, and effective communication with different stakeholders.
