Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. An understanding of current trends in fitness and extensive knowledge of the specific class being taught.
  2. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, muscular function, exercise program implementation, safe group exercise or instructional procedures, and use of related class materials and/or equipment.
  3. Lead and motivate team members to a level of service which exceeds all guest expectations by facilitating teamwork and ensuring all duties are performed in a consistent manner and in the time allocated.
  4. Maintain close contact with guests, receiving feedback regarding the operation of the spa and recreational facilities of the hotel.
  5. Ability to manage cultural diversity.
  6. Meet requirements of VIP guests.
  7. Express continuous commitment to participant development.
  8. Advocate for safety and risk management.
  9. Promote the Fitness area, personal training sessions, and classes.
  10. Encourage sales through full product and price knowledge of offered and available facilities.
  11. Act in accordance with all hotel policies, personnel policies, spa policies, and procedures, including all health and sanitary regulations.
  12. Provide optimum service through staff training, coaching, feedback, and ensuring adequate staffing levels.
  13. Monitor products and accessories used in the Spa & Recreation department to ensure all budgets are achieved and adhered to.
  14. Assist in the preparation of the yearly operating equipment and capital expenditure budget.
  15. Prepare daily revenue reports.
  16. Prepare monthly usage reports.
  17. Offer suggestions and make recommendations to management on ideas for improving the spa operation and performance.
  18. Full responsibilities of the Gym & Health Club equipment maintenance.
  19. Follow up on maintenance contracts and warranties.
  20. Coordinate with Engineering for all pool equipment maintenance.
  21. Follow up on chemical purchase & usage in the Health Club.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in the sector and impeccable knowledge of spa & recreation management.
  • Computer literate.
  • Team spirit.
  • Guest-oriented, outgoing, and service-minded.
  • Responsive.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Well organized.
  • Decisive, autonomous, entrepreneurial, and good commercial sense.
  • Creative and innovative.
  • Good level of general culture.
  • Excellent presentation.
