Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirate

Reports To: General Manager (GM) and Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role requires preparing and presenting various financial reports for the General Manager and Group CFO to facilitate decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting and Financial Operations:

- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial data entry and reporting.
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all transactions comply with internal policies and relevant accounting standards.

Financial Reporting:

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Develop and present detailed financial reports and analyses to the GM and Group CFO.
- Assist in creating budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on financial data analysis.

Compliance and Audit:

- Ensure compliance with local regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP).
- Coordinate with external auditors and assist in the preparation of audit requirements.
- Monitor and ensure proper documentation and internal controls.

Financial Planning and Support:

- Assist in developing and monitoring financial strategies to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Provide financial support for business projects, including investment analysis and cost control initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial objectives.

Other Duties:

- Support ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from the GM and Group CFO.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in financial regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, CA Inter or CMA Inter

Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience, including financial reporting and analysis.

Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
