Painter – Automotive Commercial Vehicles

Perform quality paint job for the commercial vehicles in accordance with the company’s standard and specification.

Responsibilities:

1. Receive work and Job Card from the workshop supervisor.
2. By receiving the job card, perform each requirement and tick and sign the checklist before moving forward.
3. Prepare the mix of colours and ensure the matching of original colour.
4. Ensure that enough paint/paint material is available in stock.
5. If any material is required to purchase, inform the supervisor.
6. Remove old, defected paint with the use of liquid paint remover, scraper, or other effective techniques.
7. Identify additional work and non-conformances. Rapidly communicate them to the supervisor and write them down on the Job Card.
8. Ensure the presentation of the vehicle viz. resetting of equipment and accessories, cleanliness.
9. Update the supervisor and store excessive consumables if any for use to avoid wastage.
10. Tidy up and clean the work area, and all the tools used (individual or collective).
11. Maintain the stock of tools and keep them in proper condition.
12. Perform all activities in compliance with the Company’s QHSEMS and as per the assigned specific responsibilities.
13. Carry out any additional tasks assigned (in line with qualifications and ability) by the line Manager.

Desired Candidate Profile:

1. Qualifications & Education: High-school degree/certification.
2. Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the commercial vehicle sector.
3. Knowledge & Skills: Working knowledge of English (able to read and interpret technical manuals, repair booklets).
