Job Purpose:

The Data Officer is responsible for managing data within INDEX Holding and establishing a system for secure data collection and processing. This includes tasks like collecting, storing, organizing, and categorizing data. Data Officers ensure the data is accurate, complete, and accessible to those who need it.

Responsibilities:

  1. Apply data governance and ensure that data is handled securely, ethically, and in compliance with regulations.
  2. Ensure data quality by overseeing data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  3. Arrange for data management by implementing processes for data collection, storage, and retrieval.
  4. Collaborate with various teams to create a data management system that facilitates secure data collection and processing.
  5. Apply mechanisms towards normalizing data sharing.
  6. Gather data from various sources, ensuring its accuracy and completeness, and enter it into designated systems.
  7. Coordinate with all relevant parties to regularly clean and update data to remove errors, inconsistencies, and duplicates.
  8. Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for innovation.
  9. Ensure data is organized effectively, classified appropriately, and securely stored in accessible formats.
  10. Perform basic to intermediate data analysis using various tools and techniques to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  11. Create reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate data findings to IT Manager and/or CTO in a clear and understandable manner.
  12. Test and validate new data entries, features, or enhancements.
  13. Implement procedures and checks to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data throughout its lifecycle.
  14. Contribute to maintaining data security measures and protocols to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access or breach.
  15. Ensure INDEX complies with relevant data privacy regulations.
  16. Use various tools and techniques to clean, manipulate, and visualize data.
  17. Implement Data Leak Prevention System in INDEX Holding and maintain all its data.

Required Experience:

  1. Certification in Database Management, and hands-on experience associated with IT data conciliation and integration projects.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in Database and Data Privacy management in IT.
  3. Demonstrate strong knowledge of data management and their applications as well as experience in data analysis, data maintenance and cleaning, data quality control, data governance and data organization and storage.
  4. Ability to analyze complex data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  5. Strong understanding of data privacy practices, database management, and software development.
  6. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral. Arabic language is an advantage.
  7. Excellent presentation and reporting skills.
  8. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
