The Restaurant Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure a smooth dining experience for customers. This role is responsible for managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining health and safety standards, and assisting with administrative duties. The ideal candidate has excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management: Supervise, train, and mentor restaurant staff, including servers, hosts, and bussers. Schedule shifts and manage employee attendance and performance. Lead pre-shift meetings to communicate daily specials, customer notes, and operational goals. Resolve conflicts and ensure a positive working environment.
Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service by monitoring staff interactions with guests. Handle customer complaints and feedback professionally. Ensure timely service and resolve any service-related issues promptly.
Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring all areas are running efficiently. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the kitchen to ensure timely ordering of supplies. Assist in organizing and managing events or large group bookings. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Financial Management: Assist in managing the restaurant's budget, controlling costs, and optimizing profitability. Monitor daily sales, prepare reports, and assist with cash handling procedures. Help manage the labor cost by ensuring appropriate staffing levels for operational needs.
Quality Control: Ensure the quality of food and drinks served aligns with the restaurant’s standards. Conduct regular checks on cleanliness and ambiance of the restaurant. Address maintenance or repair needs promptly.
Administrative Duties: Assist the Restaurant Manager with hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff. Prepare shift reports and communicate any operational issues to management. Ensure all licenses, certificates, and permits are up to date.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
Strong understanding of restaurant operations, customer service, and health standards.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to handle pressure and resolve conflicts professionally.
Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant management software.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred:
Certification in hospitality management or a related field.
Experience with budgeting and financial management.
