Merchandising Manager Middle East & Africa

The Merchandising Manager is the direct liaison with Group HQ Global Merchandising and Category Management team on merchandising directions globally.

With that direction, the Merchandising Manager is expected to set the trend and merchandising guidelines for the region, in consultation with the Commercial departments in Region HQ and market GM.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as Merchandising Manager will be as following:

Planning

1. Liaise with Group HQ Global Merchandising and Category Management team on global merchandising directions.
2. Set trend and merchandising guidelines for the region in consultation with Market GM, Regional E-Commerce and Commercial Team, while taking into account directions from Global Merchandising. This should also be done without any dictating of price and discount strategy, keeping in mind that price and discount strategy responsibilities are with the Sub regions.
3. Work closely with Regional Finance to ensure accurate stock budget, and to provide Regional Finance with support on stock matters during Budgets and DF.
4. Perform product grading.
5. Organize and conduct weekly market calls to align merchandising decisions.

Execution

1. Lead the regional team to create Collection catalogue.
2. Work on orders for both Retail, ECOMM and Wholesale for all Sub regions.
3. Consolidate orders from Sub regions and conduct range selection.
4. Perform price load.
5. Collaborate with S&OP to ensure stock category transfer management is done.
6. Responsible to keep track of in-season performance for achievement of desired seasonal sell thru.
7. Responsible for Targets related to PBT, Ageing and Stock Turn.

Check

1. Check out of collection and material changes.
2. Arrange competitor analysis to ensure competitiveness.

Analysis

1. Conduct post season review.

Communicate

1. Communicate seasonal commercial calendar to Sub regions.
2. Share regional strategies and category management information with Sub regions.
3. Organize and conduct merchandising workshop for the region.

Events

1. Be responsible and accountable for activities related to G2.
2. Be responsible and accountable for activities related to CP.

To Be Considered For This Role, You Will Need

1. Minimum 8 years work experience, ideally in a Retail merchandising or allocation environment.
2. University Degree or Equivalent.
3. English (fluent written and spoken).
4. A passion for footwear and accessories.
5. Knowledge of consumer trends with the ability to translate into commercial concepts.
6. Good understanding of the digital marketplace and competitor landscape.
7. Experience working in an international and multi-cultural environment.
8. Good Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, PowerPoint).
9. Regular travel within managed Markets and to HQ.
10. Ability to come to decisions based on multiple constraints from different stakeholders, and in the event of competing constraints, able to facilitate differences and arrive at a sensible conclusion.
11. Clear communication skills.
12. Flexible in responding to changing business needs and decisions.
