North American International School is searching for a capable and trustworthy secondary math teacher to join our excellent team. The secondary math teacher’s responsibilities include but are not limited to, developing interesting lesson plans based on Grade 6 - Grade 11 California State Standards and the College Board's AP Calculus curriculum, collaborating with teachers, completing student assessments, and addressing any performance issues. Successful candidates should be able to teach students from varied cultural backgrounds and create lessons that adapt to various levels of learning within the classroom. Successful candidates should enjoy working with middle and high school students and have an adaptable/flexible mindset when developing engaging lessons for young learners. The learners at North American International School require a teacher who has a mindset of curiosity and interest in the greater world around them so that they can share that passion with their students.
Secondary Math Teacher Responsibilities:
Designing, developing, and delivering quality lesson plans and curricula that adhere to national and school guidelines.
Subject area responsibilities may include Middle School Math (Grades 6 - 8), Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2. Preference is given to candidates with the ability to teach Pre-Calculus and/or AP Calculus.
Analyzing MAP Exam data to adapt students’ results to their learning to increase students’ MAP scores.
Creating suitable formative and summative assessments that deliver helpful, timely feedback to students, parents, and other teachers.
Establishing classroom routines and activities, ensuring that all students understand what is expected of them.
Setting up activities, modeling presentations, and designing project-based learning activities.
Providing extra resources, support, and interventions for students who are struggling to achieve benchmark standards.
Managing student performance data and other administrative tasks.
Creating an inquiry-based learning environment.
Participating in other school activities and regularly communicating with parents.
Working collaboratively with other grade-level teachers.
