To operate and closely monitor continuous casting equipment to achieve the planned production targets following standard work procedure and instructions, and to inspect and timely prepare the machine equipment during sequence break.
Diploma is required
Currently should be working in Steel industry
Operate and follow routine casting operation activities; mould, ladle & tundish operations according to standard work procedures and work instructions from direct supervisor through available resources; operation station panels, HMI, thermocouples, etc.
Prepare casting machine during sequence break; preparation of dummy bar, mould sealing, tundish replacement and mould change to make the machine ready for next cast start within the available time limit.
Support and participate during any operational troubles; ladle nozzle chock, tundish nozzle chock, breakouts, metal overflow from mould, billet early disconnection, etc. with other group members in identification and rectifying the problem in a timely manner either during planned or unplanned stoppages.
Carry out routine inspection, adjustment, checking and cleaning of equipment/tools on a daily basis to ensure unplanned plant and process interruptions are minimised.
Carry out the monthly maintenance routine and non-routine activities to ensure that casting machine is operating to the highest possible efficiency and standards on an ongoing basis; cooling chamber attach metal cutting, spray headers nozzles replacement and/or cleaning, tundish car launders and overflow/emergency box cleaning and repair with castable, etc.
Support maintenance personnel during the planned shutdown period, working as a team to repair/overhaul plant and/or equipment to ensure that plant/equipment is operating to the highest possible standards on an ongoing basis.
Communicate clearly with operators on the next shift about current operation conditions to ensure that the shift is handed over smoothly with all clear information.
Inspect and prepare spare tundish and moulds prior to sequence break to minimize machine preparation time and perform lifting/shifting of consumable materials and spare moulds to/from the casting floor.
Identify and report immediately any problem or abnormality in running equipment or process, to allow appropriate, prompt corrective action to be taken.
Carry out any additional tasks as required by the Management/Superiors.
