Summary:
The Educational Psychologist plays a crucial role in supporting the psychological well-being and educational development of students in Dubai. They provide assessment, intervention, and counseling services to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The educational psychologist collaborates with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment. They conduct assessments, provide guidance, and develop strategies to enhance students' learning and overall well-being. Strong counseling skills, knowledge of educational psychology, and a passion for supporting students are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' learning and emotional needs.
  2. Provide counseling and intervention services to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  3. Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop individualized support plans.
  4. Develop and implement strategies to enhance students' learning and well-being.
  5. Conduct classroom observations and provide recommendations for classroom management.
  6. Support the identification and intervention for students with special educational needs.
  7. Provide training and guidance to teachers and staff on psychological issues and strategies.
  8. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss students' progress and interventions.
  9. Collaborate with external agencies and professionals as necessary.
  10. Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments and interventions.
  11. Stay updated with research and best practices in educational psychology.
  12. Support the school in promoting positive mental health and well-being initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements:

  1. Master's degree in Educational Psychology or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
  2. Valid license or certification in educational psychology.
  3. Proven experience as an educational psychologist, preferably in a school setting.
  4. Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools and intervention strategies.
  5. Excellent counseling and communication skills.
  6. Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and teachers.
  7. Knowledge of special educational needs and learning difficulties.
  8. Understanding of educational policies and practices.
  9. Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in supporting students' well-being.
  10. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
