Job Title: General Manager / Operations Director

Package: 25,000 - 30,000 AED per month, plus benefits

I'm currently supporting an amazing hospitality group, here in Dubai, with their search for a General Manager / Operations Director. Based in the heart of Dubai, the group has launched an amazing entertainment lead venue, and they are now actively looking for an experienced General Manager / Operations Director to join and head up this very exciting project. The venue itself runs up to circa 250-300 capacity which also includes an amazing outdoor terrace, and they run multiple daily & weekly promotions too: whether that be happy hours, brunches, etc.
We're looking for someone who has previous experience heading up similar venues, across Middle Eastern territories, and it's an absolute must that this person is both commercially & operationally strong - sales forecasts, projects, P&Ls, budgets, etc. This person must also have a strong grasp on marketing, as we're wanting someone who has that prior experience implementing their own promotions, campaigns, etc.
You'll be leading a team of circa 40, and you'll be reporting into the wider group owner. Ideally, we're looking for someone who has a strong background within the Dubai F&B/Nightlife scene, and who is based in country already.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations.
- Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction.
- Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints.
- Regularly review product quality and research new vendors.
- Organize and supervise shifts.
- Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity.
- Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils and cleaning products.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
- Manage restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it.
- Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste.
- Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses.
- Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events.
- Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads).
- Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices.
- Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations.
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a General Manager/Operations Director.
- Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff.
- Familiarity with restaurant management software, like OpenTable and PeachWorks.
- Strong leadership, motivational and people skills.
- Acute financial management skills (budgeting, P&L, forecasting, etc.).
- UAE experience is mandatory.
