Roles and Responsibilities

Here's your chance to step into the role of Retail Associate (Emiratization program) at Dubai Parks & Resorts. In this position, you'll take on key responsibilities that include:

To provide good service and promote merchandise and services and to attend to guest needs at the retail stores or carts. Ensure consistent housekeeping standards, merchandise display, stock replenishment, perform cashiering duties and maintain accurate stock control. To be able to work independently at the retail store or at the cart and be able to work in an outdoor environment and be able to work on rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities are as follows:

Project Delivery

  • Provide good service standards at all times
  • Greet and initiate conversation with guests and understand guest needs
  • Possess good product knowledge and selling skills
  • Assist guests with their inquiries and help them by going the extra mile
  • Ensure that the store housekeeping, stock replenishment, and merchandise display are carried out as a daily routine
  • Understand store assortment mix
  • Assist other team members in a positive and professional manner
  • Willingness to cross-train as requested
  • Perform all POS functions in an accurate and timely manner

Governance & Oversight

  • Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are adhered to in accordance with company policies
  • Ensure that Environmental, Health and Safety requirements are adhered to
  • Learn, practice, and adhere to all related safety procedures related to job and work area
  • Follow or establish safety procedures or avoiding working alone wherever possible. Hence, if inevitable, advise the Line Manager and know the alternative means to contact in case of emergency.
  • Adhere to fire safety and emergency evacuation procedures, including assisting the guests when evacuating.
  • Contribute to a healthy, illness-free workplace by observing proper personal hygiene, high standards of cleanliness and observing consistent housekeeping like frequent hand washing to reduce the risk of common infections and cross contaminations.
  • Follow the use of equipment, machines, and tools safely, keeping all work areas clear of clutter
  • Ensure that fire exits are not blocked, and fire extinguishers are monitored and updated
  • Ensure a complete first aid kit is within easy access and advise the Line Manager if it needs additional items
  • Know how to report a hazard and a near miss to the Line Manager. Cooperate and resolve incidences involving oneself and persons within own’s control and influence, timely and accurately.
  • Follow strictly the rules and regulations set by the company to protect the lives and welfare of persons involved in business processes, including the protection of property and environment from damages and other form of losses.

Transformation Programs

  • Monitor store inventory movement & inform Store Management of any irregularities in stock movement
  • Commit to safe systems of work by adhering to agreed processes that are put in place, which can include, but not limited to those in the approved manuals, policies, procedures and SOP’s.
  • Provide, as far as reasonably practicable, the highest level of protection against harm or loss from hazards and risks to health, safety, and welfare, of oneself and of the persons working under own’s authority.
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management team

  • Sales Skills: Proficiency in sales techniques, including upselling and cross-selling, to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills for interacting with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with team members to achieve store goals and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Cash Handling: Skills in processing transactions accurately and handling cash, credit, and debit payments securely.
  • Inventory Management: Familiarity with stock management practices, including receiving shipments, organizing inventory, and conducting inventory counts.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address customer complaints and operational challenges efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure product displays are appealing and accurate pricing is maintained.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing environments, including seasonal promotions and varying customer traffic.
  • Time Management: Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks, such as stocking shelves and assisting customers, efficiently.
  • Visual Merchandising: Basic understanding of visual merchandising principles to create attractive product displays.
