Safety Advisor - Health, Safety and Environment

We are currently recruiting for a Safety Advisor Health, Safety and Environment to join our Health & Safety team in Dubai.
Scope: The Safety Advisor HSE will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Health & Safety Management system at Transguard worksites and ensure its compliance with International Safety Standards (ISO 45001 & 14001). This position will develop guidelines in coordination with the HSE Manager for the HSE management of operations and standards. The HSE Advisor will provide information, giving technical guidance on all Health, Safety, Wellbeing, and Environmental matters, identifying and advising on current and future requirements and ensuring that systems, policies, and processes are in place to prevent incidents and support the continuing development of an HSE culture across the organization.
- Implementation of Organizational and client HSE policy/procedures in compliance with ISO 45001:2018, 14001:2015, and any other applicable HSE standard to the worksite.
- Advise the business on health & safety matters and assist them in the implementation of the health & safety management system.
- Conduct periodic safety inspections for identification of HSE hazards at workplace/premises and ensure these hazards are minimized by implementing adequate control measures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements pertaining to Health, Safety, and Environment. Manage and coordinate all HSE matters related to Business Units in compliance with HSE requirements, specifications, safety codes, legal requirements, and TG policies/procedures.
- Carry out regular site visits to the TG accommodations to ensure the safety standards are implemented & practiced.
- Conduct building safety assessments for the TG accommodations.
Customer
- Coordinate within the business unit to conduct occupational risk and opportunity/environmental aspects and impact assessment for prudently managing HSE risks & creating opportunities for continual improvement in their respective areas.
- Work closely with the TG client's health & safety representatives to ensure TG staff are aware and following their health & safety procedures. Attend client meetings whenever required.
- Conduct HSE awareness training sessions within the organization to promote safety culture and arrange job-specific training for Operatives.
- Verify the permit to work system and implement a safe system of work to ensure operational activities are carried out with all safety precautions in place as applicable.
- Any other business-related tasks assigned by the line manager.
Process
- Prepare all necessary HSE documents as per client & legal requirements for any new sites before mobilization and ensure they are followed and regularly revised to include any changes.
- Conduct internal audits as per schedule and attend audits with external auditors & clients whenever required.
- Ensure that all HSE-related data is maintained on the shared folder/share point in a timely manner.
- Investigate HSE incidents and noncompliance events to determine root causes and recommend remedial actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Identify any patterns in lagging indicators that may require further investigation and improvement across the business and within individual business units.
- Ensure the tracking and maintenance of all records & documents related to HSE such as training, investigation reports, etc.
Selection Criteria
- 4-5 years of experience in a similar field.
- Bachelor's degree in science, HSE, or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Any recognized qualification in HSE such as NEBOSH IGC or NVQ.
- Lead/internal Auditor qualification in HSE management system (ISO 45001 / 14001).
- Basic First Aid and Fire Fighting training.
- Any internationally accredited environmental certificate will be preferable.
- Good knowledge in implementing HSE standards including policy/procedures, ISO standards such as ISO 45001, 14001.
- Working knowledge of project execution and technical knowledge of safety systems such as Firefighting systems.
- Knowledge of UAE HSE legislation, code of practice & municipality guidelines, OSHAD, or other emirates HSE regulations.
- Good communicator, written and spoken.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- Good in report writing.
- Critical thinking and analytical approach.
