To ensure that the machinery used to produce new and existing materials and goods runs to its maximum efficiency. The job holder is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing existing machines, following the Preventative Maintenance schedule, and working side-by-side with the maintenance engineer to improve and develop maintenance procedures.
Key Accountabilities:
Respond to breakdowns, identify faults, and implement solutions to minimize production downtime.
Diagnose faults and perform maintenance and repairs on all production machines safely, promptly, and professionally, returning machines to operational service. Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults, and concerns to management.
Estimate the time required to complete tasks and assess the potential consequences of failing to meet deadlines.
Collaborate with the maintenance engineer to improve and develop maintenance procedures. Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction. Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and other problem-solving activities.
Execute and adhere to the preventative maintenance schedule (daily, weekly, monthly).
Supervise, provide training, and support to team members, delegating tasks effectively.
Stay up-to-date with the latest maintenance techniques and technologies.
QHSE Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all QHSE policies, procedures, legal requirements, and applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Foster a safe and healthy working environment by adhering to company policies and industry standards.
Participate in QHSE audits, risk assessments, and required training programs.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality and safety standards.
Support environmental and safety initiatives aimed at minimizing risks and promoting sustainability.
Regularly review and update processes to align with continuous improvement objectives.
Actively engage in health, safety, and environmental training to ensure compliance and raise awareness across the organization.
Experience & Qualification
Technical qualification, diploma or internationally recognized certification in a relevant mechanical trade.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferably within a production or waste management setting.
Knowledge & Skills
Full knowledge in spare part, troubleshooting, maintenance work, and repairing of waste management processing machinery.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic drawings
Experience in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and generating reports.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills; root cause analysis (RCA), reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), or failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
Ability to manage a wide variety of activities at the same time
Fluency in written and spoken English (Arabic is an advantage)
